Customer comments on this selection. Very technical, very detailed I bought this book as a textbook for an IT class that I am taking at a community college. In the forward, they make a note that it is written for readers with experience with Server technologies. This is obvious from page one, as it is loaded with jargon and dense language. The book is detailed--it is supposed to prepare you for the 70-291 exam-- but lacks concrete examples that might make it more understandable for the beginner. wrong disks delivered by publisher I received the book on time and it was the right book. The Microsoft Official Academic Course Disk for the book was the wrong verion for this text book. I was very unhappy. A good classroom text book I took an "Implementing, Managing, and Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Network Infrastructure" Microsoft Official Academic Ciriculum class at my local community college, and we used this book as the text book for the class, which is what the book was written for. It was a very effective book, and for me personally, the class was a success. I learned a great deal about the material, and was ready to start studying for the certification test. This book was never meant to be a certification test preparation tool, although it certainly covers much of the material for the 70-291 test. The inclusion of "(Microsoft Official Academic Course Series)" at the end of the title of the book tells the whole tale. In my opinion, the book is well written, and inclusive of the material for both the course and the certification test. If you are only looking for a test prep book, you should look elsewhere. If you want a book to learn the material, both theory and practical implementation, that the test covers, this book will do quite nicely. I am sorry that one of the other reviewers didn't think that it was a good book, as it looks like he was looking for a test prep book. Wrong Subject Got my book and the book was for one exam, 70-291 and the cds in the book which you need for the course were for exam 70-299. Went through 3 books all with the same issue. No resolution was found other than trying another book.
